The 3-D enterprise model

Family, business, and ownership risk should be managed together.

The financial services industry is often transactional. Policies are placed, reviewed at renewal, and left disconnected from family, business, estate, and tax planning. We believe protection should be coordinated around the full life of the business owner.

Personal lines and commercial lines relationships are often fragmented. As owner success and complexity increase through more entities, properties, vehicles, and operating exposures, protection is too often addressed incrementally instead of as one coordinated risk architecture.

Our Why

Built because transactional protection leaves too much exposed.

3-D Insurance LLC was created to close a gap we saw repeatedly: successful families and business owners often have sophisticated family, business, estate, and tax planning, but their insurance program is reviewed separately, transactionally, incrementally, and too late.

After years of referring insurance work to other professionals, the experience did not consistently match the platinum quality standards our clients expect. There were two choices: stop referring the work, or build the capability ourselves so the client experience could be coordinated, accountable, and worthy of the families and businesses we serve.

Our 3-D Enterprise Mission is to help the clients we serve protect their family, business, and ownership interests through integrated planning that reduces complexity, minimizes risk, builds wealth, and improves tax efficiency.

Family

Where the love is.

Family risk includes household protection, lifestyle exposure, personal liability, family members, residences, vehicles, valuables, travel, and the personal consequences of a claim.

Business

The goose that lays the golden eggs.

Business risk includes operations, contracts, property, casualty, employees, cyber, key people, executive exposure, continuity, and the risks that can impair cash flow or enterprise value.

Ownership

Where family wealth is often locked up.

Ownership risk includes equity value, buy-sell planning, personal guarantees, estate liquidity, control, governance, succession, transfer planning, and the concentration risk created by the business itself.

Where the work matters most

Designed for moments when ordinary coverage reviews are not enough.

The highest-value insurance conversations usually begin when complexity changes: a company scales, an owner prepares for transition, concentrated wealth grows, or family, business, and ownership decisions begin to overlap.

Business owners preparing for succession

Review whether operating-company coverage, buy-sell funding, key-person needs, personal guarantees, and estate liquidity are aligned with the intended transition.

Affluent families with growing exposure

Coordinate umbrella limits, household risk, residences, collectibles, travel, cybersecurity, family members, and reputation-sensitive claims scenarios.

Closely held enterprises professionalizing governance

Bring insurance into the same governance conversation as decision rights, risk ownership, leadership roles, controls, and family-enterprise continuity.

Owners seeking one coordinated risk picture

Coordinate with the client's existing professionals so protection decisions are understood in the context of family planning, business planning, ownership, estate planning, and tax efficiency.

Engagement model

A disciplined review before recommendations.

3-D Insurance is built around understanding first. The work is consultative, document-driven, and focused on coordinating protection across family, business, and ownership domains.

Step 01

Discovery

Clarify the family, business, ownership structure, assets, advisors, current policies, and upcoming planning events.

Step 02

Risk architecture

Step 03

Market review

Engage appropriate licensed resources and carrier relationships to evaluate coverage design, terms, limits, exclusions, and economics.

Step 04

Stewardship

Establish a cadence for annual reviews, life events, business changes, succession milestones, and next-generation education.

Our Founder

Founded to raise the standard for risk protection.

Philip Mason founded 3-D Insurance LLC after years of seeing business owners treat insurance as a separate transaction instead of an integrated risk-management discipline. Insurance was too important to remain outside the family, business, and ownership conversation.

The firm was built so the protection experience could be coordinated, accountable, and aligned with platinum quality standards. The goal is not to sell more policies. The goal is to make sure what matters most is protected with discipline, context, and an integrated view of risk.

Brand promise

Protection with context, coordination, and accountability.

Families and owners do not need another stack of disconnected policies. They need a thoughtful review of how risk shows up in their real life: at home, in the business, around the ownership table, and inside the estate and tax planning decisions that shape continuity.

Consultative before transactional
Coordinated across family, business, and ownership domains
Built for business owners with concentrated enterprise wealth

Begin the conversation

Start with a risk architecture review.

A discovery review can determine whether a coordinated risk architecture would be valuable across personal coverage, commercial insurance, ownership agreements, estate liquidity, succession planning, entities, properties, or a major life or business transition.
